Rajshahi University Model United Nations 2020 held

Rajshahi University Model United Nations 2020 has been taken place on the premises of Rajshahi University (RU). The four-day conference took place from November 25 to 28, 2021. This time the theme of this MUN conference is 'Invigorating the culture of innovation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution'.

Rajshahi University Model United Nations Association (RUMUNA) has organised the conference for the sixth time and this time they are dedicating the event to the Mujib centenary. The inauguration was held at the Engineering Faculty Gallery of M A Wazed Miah Academic Building. Prof. Shah Azam Shantanu, Department of Marketing, Rajshahi University, and Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bharti, the Assistant High Commissioner of India were the chief and special guests of the conference respectively. The Assistant Indian High Commissioner stated in the ceremony that 'This is certainly a great platform for students to practice versatile cultures and improve themselves more. I am glad to be here today and hope that the upcoming conference brings great success to its institution.'

This year's model UN conference has been organised with a total of 6 committees. The committees are United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO), Specialized Committee for Bangladesh Affairs(SCBA), and the International Press (IP). The agendas of each committee have been decided by keeping in mind the main theme this time. This year's topics have been created with the students in mind so that they can become more interested in the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The committees will be conducted at Jagadish Chandra Bose Bhaban, Syed Ismail Hossain Siraji Bhaban, Rabindranath Tagore kola Bhaban, Deans Complex and TSCC Bhaban from 9 am to 5 pm. About 300 students from about 50 educational institutions of Bangladesh are going to participate in the conference as representatives of different countries.
