Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust collaborates with Poriborton Kori Foundation on Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2021

Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust and Poriborton Kori Foundation signed an MoU, on 30 September at the BANCAT Head Office, Gulshan. Under the agreement, BANCAT and PKF will work in collaboration on the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. The awareness campaign is scheduled for the entire month of October – as it is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

BANCAT is a non-profit working towards raising awareness, with the ultimate goal, of eliminating cancer as a major health problem in Bangladesh by preventing and diminishing suffering through education, advocacy and service.

Poriborton Kori is a youth-driven, community mobilizing non-profit registered in Bangladesh, aiming to make changes and improve human lives.

PKF's Vice President Ms Aziza Sultana and BANCAT's General Secretary Ms Mahzabin Ferdous signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides.

Addressing the event, Poriborton Kori Foundation's Aziza Sultana said: We need to fight against the social taboo about breast cancer and raise awareness about the importance of screening and early detection of breast cancer.

Ms Mahzabin Ferdous said: Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer, worldwide. However, with a little bit of awareness and monthly self-screening, it can be detected at an early stage.

This initiative is an organized effort to bring widespread attention to encourage regular breast self-examinations and screening for early diagnosis of breast cancer at an early stage.

Among others, Najmus Ahmed Albab, Author of Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust and Labiba Tahsin, Treasurer of Poriborton Kori Foundation were present during the signing ceremony.
