Baatighar celebrates founding anniversary

Baatighar, a bookstore chain and publisher, is celebrating its 17th founding anniversary, said a press release.

The publication house arranged for a two-day programme for yesterday and today from 11:00am to 9:00pm.

On the occasion, Chittagong, Dhaka and Sylhet Baatighar will welcome readers, writers and well-wishers. There will be free talks and songs in the afternoon on both days.

On June 17, 2005, Baatighar started its journey in a small house at the corner of Cheragi hill in Chattogram city. At present, there are large scale branches in Chattogram, Dhaka and Sylhet and in small scale in Dhaka's Shahbagh and Banglabazar.

Work is underway to set up a large scale Baatighar at Ghoramara, Rajshahi. The online Baatighar -- baatighar.com -- sends books anywhere in the country and abroad. Baatighar debuted as a publishing house in 2009. It has already published about 300 books
