Telenor names 16 for Youth Forum

Telenor Group yesterday announced the names of 16 youngsters, including two students of the Institute of Business Administration of the University of Dhaka, who will address inequalities in health using digital technology from December 2018 to May 2019.

They were selected, in cooperation with the Nobel Peace Centre, from a talent pool of more than 5,000 applicants, coming from Bangladesh, Denmark, Malaysia, Myanmar, Norway, Pakistan, Sweden and Thailand, where Telenor operates.

The Bangladeshis are Saima Mehedi Khan and Sameen Alam, the company said in a statement.

Sigve Brekke, Telenor CEO, said the efforts would range from “being better able to care for our elders or ensuring healthcare access and information for low-income and rural citizens”.

Liv Tørres, executive director of the Nobel Peace Centre, said they were pleased to partner with Telenor every year.
