TCB to buy 2.2cr litres of soybean oil from local suppliers

The cabinet has approved a proposal from the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh for buying 2.2 crore litres of soybean oil from local suppliers at Tk 156.98 a litre.

The decision came at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase today. It also approved the import of 80,000 tonnes of fertiliser.

Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation under the agriculture ministry will buy 50,000 tonnes of muriate of potash (MOP) fertiliser from Canadian Commercial Corporation for Tk 358.48 crore, and 30,000 tonnes of TSP fertiliser from Morocco's OCP Group for around Tk 150 crore.
