Tax over Tk 2 lakh will only be received through e-payment from July 1: NBR chief

Tax above Tk 2 lakh will be received only through e-payment system from July 1, National Board of Revenue Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem said today.

"Automation has been completed for ensuring transparency in tax realisation and road map for e-payment has also been prepared," the NBR chairman said at a programme on the occasion of International Customs Day at its office today.

He said there are three authorised economic operators. "We want to increase the number," he added.

He sought cooperation of business organisations in this regard.

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal also spoke on the occasion virtually.
