Tax lawyers besiege NBR building

Dhaka Taxes Bar Association today besieged the National Board of Revenue (NBR) building demanding cancellation of the newly announced Tax Return Preparer (TRP) policy.

Several hundred tax lawyers came to the NBR headquarters in Agargaon at around 10:00am and formed a human chain there to press home their demands.

Later, the protesters tried to enter the NBR building around 11.15 am.

After being blocked by policemen, they staged a sit-in programme in front of the NBR building.

They also chanted slogans, demanding resignation of the NBR chairman till filing of the report around 12:00pm.
