Sun may disrupt Bangabandhu Satellite-1’s broadcasting services for 8 days

The broadcasting services of Bangabandhu-1 satellite may get disrupted for eight days starting from September 29 because of sun outage, which means the interruption in or distortion of geostationary satellite signals caused by interference of the sun.

This can happen every morning in between 9:28 am and 9:43 am, Bangladesh Satellite Company Ltd said in a statement today.

The problem may occur for 5 minutes on September 29, 10 minutes on September 30, 14 minutes on October 1, 15 minutes on October 2, 15 minutes on October 3, 14 minutes on October 4, 12 minutes on October 5 and 10 minutes on October 6.
