Stocks plunge to 5-month-low at DSE

Stocks plunged to a five-month-low today at Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).

The benchmark index of the premier bourse, DSEX, declined 60.55 points, or 1.14 percent, to finish trading today at 5,248.91, website data shows.

Turnover also dropped 9.12 percent to Tk 269.91 crore, with 6.57 crore shares and mutual fund units changing hands on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.

In the last one month, the investors have witnessed their shares’ value eroding by a massive Tk 22,486 crore, according to the data of the stock exchange.

Of the traded issues, 59 advanced, 253 declined and 32 securities closed unchanged on the premier bourse.
