Robotics clubs in 300 schools by 2022: Palak

Robotics clubs will be set up in 300 schools across the country by next year, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said today.

The clubs will be set up with students and teachers of the schools under the project titled "300 Schools of the Future" of the ICT Division, he said.

The state minister was addressing the concluding ceremony of Fourth Bangladesh Robot Olympiad 2021 organised by the Bangladesh Robot Olympiad.

Palak said the students will be provided hands-on training and introduced to the skills required for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR).

Besides, the training on automation processes and data exchange in manufacturing technologies and cyber-security will also be provided, he said.

Alongside the 4IR, Arduino, an open-source platform used for building electronics projects, Internet of Things and artificial intelligence will be introduced with the club members, Palak said.

He called upon the Bangladesh Computer Council to take the necessary steps to organise robotics fair in 2022.

Palak also urged the young students and researchers to use the robots for the betterment of the society.
