NEC okays 21% higher ADP budget for FY19-20

National Economic Council (NEC) today approved an annual development programme (ADP) worth Tk 202,721 crore for 2019-20, what is 21 per cent higher compared to last fiscal.

Additionally, it has okayed ADP worth Tk 12,000 crore for autonomous institutions.

The government plans to provide Tk 130,921 crore through internal sources and Tk 71,800 from foreign funds, which is 40.78 per cent higher than the current year.

Highest allocation has been reserved to transportation sector at almost Tk 52,806 crore. Power sector came second with an allocation of Tk 26,017 crore.

Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed journalists after the meeting, disclosing the details and entails of the ADP budget planned for the approaching fiscal.
