MFS transactions rise 20% in June

Transactions through mobile financial services rose by 19.89 per cent year-on-year to Tk 94,293 crore in June.

According to Bangladesh Bank's latest data, the increase was 23 per cent on a month-on-month basis.

Customers carried out Tk 27,419 crore cash in transactions, Tk 26,692 crore cash out, Tk 24,520 crore person to person, Tk 3,126 crore merchant payment, Tk 3,508 crore government to person, Tk 2,059 crore utility bill payment.

Besides, Tk 3,264 crore salary was disbursed and Tk 797.5 crore talk time purchased using MFSs in June.

In Bangladesh, 13 platforms currently provide the services to 17.86 crore customers.
