The logo of the "Made in Bangladesh" campaign has been launched to promote the country's products globally.

The commerce ministry launched this initiative at Westin Dhaka on December 9 in coordination with the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI).

An inception and networking session of the "Made in Bangladesh" campaign was also launched in association with Spellbound Leo Burnett (local representative of CNNIC), said a press release.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi launched the campaign as chief guest, and Tapan Kanti Ghosh, secretary of the ministry, was present as a special guest of the event chaired by Md Jafar Uddin, chief executive officer of BFTI.

Through the campaign, the commendable growth and development of the country, as well as the success stories of the pioneering private sectors of the country, would be showcased to the world.

After 50 years of Independence, Bangladesh is now globally recognised as a country with great potentials and become a "role model of development", especially in the last decade. This is the right time for Bangladesh to brand the potential sectors and its products on a global platform, said a press release.

The objective of the partnership is to shine a spotlight on Bangladesh's phenomenal business and growth story to audiences across the world, it said.

The cross-platform campaign encompasses the power of CNN's storytelling, branded content produced by CNN's award-winning brand studio Create, along with global audience reach to showcase Bangladesh's journey of economic growth, according to the press release.

The story of pioneering sectors and industries will represent the pride and progress of Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries, Walton Group, bKash Limited, Meghna Group of Industries, BEXIMCO and City Group are the leading business houses who will promote the indomitable journey of their respective industries and the story of Bangladesh.

Addressing the event, the commerce minister said, "To sustain the export growth and expand our economy, it is an immediate need to brand our products on the global platform."
