Implement wireless broadband network project urgently

A parliamentary body yesterday recommended taking immediate steps to implement the Wireless Broadband Network (WBN) project within the tenure of the current government.

The parliamentary standing committee on posts, telecommunications and information technology came up with the recommendation at its 28th meeting in Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Ruling Awami League

MP Imran Ahmed, chief of the parliamentary watchdog, chaired the meeting.

The watchdog asked Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission to take measures to control the number of text messages sent by mobile operators to their customers.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar was also present.
