IDLC donates 5% of CSR fund to PM’s education aid trust

IDLC Finance Limited has donated 5 per cent of its total corporate social responsibility (CSR) budget for the year 2022 to the Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust.

The company handed over a cheque equivalent to Tk 18 lakh to the trust on June 1, IDLC said in a press release today.

Underprivileged students are provided scholarships from the trust, which is under the education ministry, based on merit. An advisory council headed by the prime minister manages the Trust.

IDLC has always played a very active role in trying to help and improve the situation of the underprivileged meritorious students of the country, said M Jamal Uddin, chief executive officer and managing director of IDLC.

"I would like to express my gratitude to Bangladesh Bank for this timely initiative. In only a few years, Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust has done an outstanding job in supporting the education of the deprived population of the country and we are happy to be a part of this noble initiative."
