Govt implements 84.16% of ADP in FY23

The amount is 8.58 percentage points lower than the previous year

The government could implement 84.16 per cent of the annual development programme (ADP) in the 2022-23 fiscal year, which is 8.58 percentage points lower than the previous year.

Different ministries and divisions spent Tk 199,099 crore of the total revised ADP worth of Tk 236,560 crore in FY23, according to data from the Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) released today.

They spent Tk 125,162 crore or 81.77 per cent of the Tk 153,066 crore the government set aside from its own fund to implement the ADP, which is in percentage a 19-year low.

At the same time, spending from foreign loans stood at 90.4 per cent, a fall of 2.66 percentage points compared to the previous fiscal year.

In FY22, the total ADP implementation was 92.74 per cent where Tk 203,648 crore was spent out of the total development programme of Tk 219,601 crore.
