Exports fall 11% in July

Exports fell 11.19 per cent year-on-year to $3.47 billion in July this year mainly because of a massive decrease in garment shipment.

In the month, Bangladesh sent abroad $2.88 billion worth of apparel items, which was over 83 per cent of the month's total export.

In July last year, the south Asian country shipped products worth $3.91 billion, of which $3.24 was garment items.
