EconProdigy 4.0 Grand Finale held at North South University

The Grand Finale of EconProdigy 4.0 was held on Sunday at the North South University premises in Dhaka’s Bashundhara.

Organised by Young Economists’ Forum (YEF) – a student run academic club of NSU – this year’s theme of EconProdigy was Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), reads a press release issued in this regard.

The participating teams were met with two rounds – Presentonomics and Cross Talk – where they had to present their policies regarding the theme and debate on CSR related notions. After the selection process, top five teams were chosen for the Grand Finale.

The final event kicked off with an opening speech by YEF’s faculty advisor Azreen Benazir Abdullah. The top teams were then asked to present their policies to the judges. After presentations, Parisa Shakur, Director of Student Affairs, NSU, made a welcome speech which was followed by a speech from the special guest, Mominul Islam, Managing Director & CEO of IPDC Finance Limited. The speeches continued with speakers Prof G U Ahsan, pro vice-chancellor, NSU, special guest M A Hashem, chairman, board of trustees, NSU, Chief Guest Md Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, President, FBCCI. A concluding speech was made by Session Chair Prof Atiqul Islam, vice chancellor, NSU.

The program proceeded with the launch of Young Economists’ Forum’s annual publication Equilibrium 2018 after which the names of winners of EconProdigy 4.0 were announced. The announcement was followed by an Award Giving Ceremony to the three top companies who are exemplars in their contribution towards CSR activities. All the guests and participants were then served dinner.

Team Upwreck of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) were crowned champions of EconProdigy 4.0, while Team Consensus of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) was announced 1st runners up and Team Policy Police of North South University (NSU) finished as 2nd runners up.
