DHL trains female staff in self defense

DHL Express Bangladesh and DHL Global Forwarding Bangladesh has jointly organised a DHL Women's Network programme themed “fit to fight”, providing female employees self-defense training.

DHL Women's Network is a communications platform for women to enhance their leadership potential.

Women are working independently nowadays without any time limit or day constraints. In recent days, many issues have arisen which has become alarming for women who work outside their homes, according to a DHL statement.

To protect the dignity of women in such situations, the self-defense training has been conducted, it added.

Shamima Akhter Tulee, a professional combat gym instructor, conducted the training. A total of 58 participants attended the session at Hotel Bengal Blueberry in Dhaka.

Afroza Parveen, a makeover specialist of Red Beauty Salon, and Azrah Mahmood, a renowned model and ramp choreographer, attended a session to inspire and motivate the participants.
