Dhaka Bank also cancels card transactions with 10 e-commerce platforms

Dhaka Bank has joined the foray of cancelling card based transactions with 10 e-commerce platforms, including Evaly and Alesha Mart, according to text messages sent by the private bank to its clients today.

Earlier, Brac Bank and Bank Asia cancelled such transactions with the sites.

"We have taken the step to protect interest of our customers," said a senior official of Dhaka Bank preferring to remain unnamed.

The City Bank Ltd, one of the major card issuer, suggested its clients to be cautious in doing transactions using Amex cards.
