Chinese firm to invest $9.58 million at Ctg EPZ

Chinese company Intex Link Garments (BD) Limited is going to invest $9.58 million to set up a garment factory in the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ).

The company will produce 61 million pieces of T-shirts, woven pants and jackets, ladies' bras and panties, mans' boxers and sleepwear, said the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) in a press release.

To this end, Ali Reza Mazid, investment and promotion member of the Bepza, and Junting Tan, managing director of Intex Link Garments, signed an agreement today.

Bepza Executive Chairman Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman was present at the event.

The investment will generate jobs for 2,659 Bangladeshi nationals, the press release added.
