App finds doers for tasks

Shohokari.com, an online platform for outsourcing various tasks, has recently launched a “Shohokari App” aiming to directly connect skilled and unemployed workers with employers all over Bangladesh.

Syed Almas Kabir, president of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), launched the app at BASIS SoftExpo 2019 in Dhaka last month, says a statement.

Didarul Alam, a director of the

BASIS; Tashnuba J Liya, CEO of Shohokari.com, and directors Biplob G Rahul and Hafizur Rahman were present. Shohokari.com is a social collaboration of Helping Human Foundation and Asian Information Technology.

Using the app, citizens can find workers with different skills and hire them after negotiating a price on task-contractual basis, or as part time or full time basis.

The skilled persons include cleaners, repairers, handypersons, IT freelancers, delivery persons, domestic helps, chauffeurs, shopping assistants, administration workers, photographers, office assistants, legal support providers and business consultants.

Artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms inform verified workers of job requests, which can be posted on the platform for free, based on skill, location and other parameters. Users can negotiate prices and terms for those best suiting their needs.

“We are working to provide jobs to millions of people in coming days while giving individual workers the due recognition and freedom of opportunities they deserve by building up their personal profile as their digital CV which can be verified by anyone at anytime online,” said Liya.
