All services of Mutual Trust Bank to be closed from Oct 29 to Nov 5

Mutual Trust Bank will keep all its banking services closed except credit card operation from 11:55pm of October 29 to 9:30am on November 5.

Branch banking of the lender will also remain closed during the period, according to a central bank notice released today.

All types of transactions will be shut as the bank will convert its core banking system from an existing platform to another one.

The upgraded system will provide smoother service to clients than the existing one, said Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director of the lender.

The bank has taken the decision with prior approval from the central bank, he said.

"We have selected two weekends during the migration period of the system such that our clients will not face too much difficulties," Rahman said.
