200 graduates to be trained on AI, IoT

Another 100 will be sent later for training on artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, internet of things (IoT), robotics, blockchain, data science and cyber security.

  All the expenses will be borne from the government portion of a Tk 1,796.40 crore fund created in association with an Indian line of credit for a project on establishing 12 district ICT and hi-tech parks.    Once interested candidates under 32 years of age apply at www.bhtpa.gov.bd, the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division, which has undertaken the project, will take a formal exam to select qualified candidates.  A public notice has already been issued at the website.

These technologies will lead the world economy in the coming days and that is why the government gave priority to it aiming for faster growth of digitalisation, said Md Golam Mostafa, the project director. “We have selected some topics which are quite new to us and a huge number of engineers will be required in this filed in the coming days,” said Mostafa, also a joint secretary of the ICT division.

Requesting anonymity, another official said this would be a rare opportunity for people as usually public servants were sent abroad for training and this time the graduates would come back to train others.
