FICCI re-elects president

Rupali Chowdhury

Rupali Chowdhury has been re-elected as the president of Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for the 2015-17 period.

The chamber also elected Kevin Lyon as its vice-president, FICCI said in a statement yesterday.

Chowdhury took the charge of the chamber as president in 2013 and has been serving the executive committee of FICCI as a member since 2008. 

Chowdhury has been serving Berger Paints Bangladesh as managing director since 2008, the chamber said.

In 1984, she started her career with Multinational Pharmaceutical & Chemical Company, Ciba Giegy (Bangladesh) and later joined Berger Paints Bangladesh as head of planning in 1990, according to the statement. 

She is also an independent director of Marico Bangladesh and the president of Bangladesh Paint Manufacturer's Association.

Kevin Lyon

She received her MBA degree from the Institute of Business Administration under Dhaka University and completed her graduation with honours in chemistry from Chittagong University.

Lyon is also the president of Chevron Bangladesh, according to the statement. He has also been the country manager for Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands, part of the Chevron Upstream Europe strategic business unit.

In this role, he was responsible for Chevron's oil and gas production in 10 offshore blocks located in the Dutch sector of the North Sea.

Kevin has worked for Chevron previously in Indonesia, Philippines and Nigeria and is also a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas. He received his bachelor degree in electrical engineering in 1988 from University of Wyoming.
