National Fisheries Week from Aug 28

National Fisheries Week will be observed across the country from August 28, according to Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim.

He made this announcement at the preparatory meeting of the 2021 National Fisheries Week at a conference room of the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka yesterday, as per a press release.

This year, the theme of National Fisheries Week has been fixed as "cultivate more fish, reduce unemployment".

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury is expected to inaugurate the programme at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium on August 29.

National Fisheries Week is observed annually in July but it was delayed this year due to the recent spike in Covid-19 infections across the country.
