Tk 678,064 crore budget unveiled

Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal unveiled a proposed budget of Tk 678,064 crore for 2022-23 fiscal year in the national parliament today.

This is his fourth budget and the first budget of the government after the Covid-19 pandemic.

The proposed budget will be 15.2 percent of GDP, according to the budget speech of the financial minister.

Of the total budget, Tk 431,998 crore is allocated for operating expenditure and the rest Tk 246,066 crore for development purpose.

The total revenue earnings for the 2022-23 fiscal year has been estimated at Tk 433,000 crore.

Of this, NBR will collect Tk 370,000 crore and another Tk 63,000 crore will be collected from other sources.
