Dhaka stocks suffer steepest fall in 4 years

Country’s premier bourse sees steep fall of 133.15 points today, the highest downfall in last four and half years amid rising political tension and liquidity crisis.

The broad index DSEX lost 2.21 percent and stood at 5,888.29 points at the end of the trading session.

Earlier in June 9, 2013, the prime index lost 145 points to close at 3,882 level when country was going through political turmoil centering national election that took place in January 2014.

The DSEX plunged below 6,000 level yesterday after three months since October 30, 2017.

The daily turnover continued slump generating Tk 364.90 crore yesterday.
