Asian Development Bank awards essay competition winners in Bangladesh

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) awarded four winners of an essay competition celebrating its 50th founding anniversary.

Toufikul Islam, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Dhaka University won the first prize. Arefin Mizan, Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Dhaka University and Tanvir Ahmed, Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Jahangirnagar University of Savar, Dhaka, won the second and third prizes respectively. Sumaiya Akhter, Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka received a special award.

Director General, Hun Kim, of ADB's South Asia department handed over the prizes to the winners at ADB's Bangladesh resident mission in Dhaka yesterday, according to a press release.

The first prize of the competition is US $500, the second prize US $300, the third prize US $200 and the special prize US $100.
