Anis A Khan to serve MTB as chief until 2019

The Board of Mutual Trust Bank has recently extended the contract of Anis A Khan as its managing director for another four years to November 30, 2019.

The contract which will come into effect from April 15 was renewed with the approval of the central bank, MTB said in a statement yesterday.

Khan began his banking career with the then Grindlays Bank as a management trainee in December 1982, and later worked for ANZ Grindlays Bank and Standard Chartered Bank in various roles both at home and abroad, according to the statement.

Later, he served IDLC Finance as chief executive before joining MTB in his current role in 2009.

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh. He also serves Primary Dealers Bangladesh Ltd as chairman and the SWIFT Member and User Group of Bangladesh as chairperson.

Khan is also vice chairman of the Association of Bankers, Bangladesh, vice president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka, and trustee treasurer of the CSR Centre.
