Aftab ul Islam joins central bank as director

Aftab ul Islam has recently been appointed as the director of Bangladesh Bank.

Islam started his 36-year-long career in the private sector with USA-based multinational IT company NCR Corporation and later headed the company. In 1992, he launched his own business, IOE (Bangladesh) Ltd.

A commerce graduate, Islam completed his LLB and later went on to become a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh.

He is also a former president of Bangladesh Computer Samity and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
