Bangladesh-India road transit to start soon: state minister

Road transit between Bangladesh and India will be started very soon, State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan said yesterday.

The issue was discussed, he said at a meeting held to mark International Customs Day at customs auditorium in Benapole. He also led a procession celebrating the event.

Jamal Hossain, customs commissioner for Jessore chaired the meeting, where FMA Abdullah, customs commissioner for Benapole; Lt Col Jahangir Hossain, commanding officer of 26 Border Guard Battalion, Jessore; and Ashraful Alam Liton, mayor of Benapole Municipality, also spoke.
