Biman cargo import terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport open 7 days-a-week from today

Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities from today kept open its cargo import terminals for all over the week to facilitate quick release of imported goods at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Biman has urged all the importers to release their imported goods from the terminal as soon as possible, reads a press release issued by Biman.

There is a provision for fine if the goods are not released within the given time, the press release adds.

Clogged goods at the airport’s cargo terminal hamper maintenance and security operations due to unavailability of adequate space, it said.

From now on, with the help of customs department and Sonali Bank, imported goods can be released through the gates (A and B) of the terminal every day, the press note said.

Previously, the government on July 19 decided to keep Benapole and Chittagong ports operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week from next month with an aim to ease export and import activities.
