BSF shoots 2 Bangladeshis in Lalmonirhat

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot and injured two Bangladeshi cattle traders near Burimari frontier in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat early today.

Injured Rabiul Islam, 25, and Bakul Hossain, 28, hailed from Mughlibari village were rushed to Patgram Upazila Health Complex and Rangpur Medical College Hospital respectively, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent.

A BSF patrol team of Changrabandha camp in Paschimbanga opened fired targeting seven to eight cattle traders in Khengti Dangapara area around 4:00am when they were returning home from India with cattle.

Among them, Rabiul and Bakul suffered bullet wounds in their hands, said Pronab Kumar Das, a resident medical officer of the health complex.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Bajlur Rahman Hayati, commanding officer of the Border Guard Bangladesh Lalmonirhat battalion, confirmed it to The Daily Star.
