Indian Border Security Force gunned down a Bangladeshi cattle trader inside the Indian territory opposite to Agrabhulot frontier in Benapole of Jessore early today.

Parvez, 21, was son of Sujon (full name not known) of Agrobhulot village, reports our Benapole correspondent.

Shamsur Rahman, in-charge of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion-23 of Goga camp, told The Daily Star that Parvez along with his other cattle traders went to India crossing Agrabhulot border to bring cattle early today.

While returning home, a BSF patrol team of Jhaudanga camp

opened fire, leaving Parvez critically injured, said the BGB official.

The victim succumbed to his injuries on way when the other cattle traders were bringing him to his village home, he said.

The body bore five to six bullet marks, the BGB commander added.

Family members took Parvez’s body to their house.
