Indian Border Security Force (BSF) beat up a Bangladeshi cattle trader along Benapole frontier in Sharsha upazila of Jessore and took him to Indian territory early today.

The victim, Abul Kalam, 35, is now undergoing treatment at Bongaon Hospital in India, our correspondent said quoting Commanding Officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) battalion-23 Lt Col Abdur Rahim.
Kalam is son of Ershad Ali of Agrabhulot village in Sharsha upazila.
According to the BGB official, Kalam along with 10 to 12 cattle traders crossed Benapole border around 5:00am to bring cows from there.
After a long chase, the BSF troops of Jhaudanga camp caught Kamal and beat him indiscriminately when he was returning into his village, the BGB official added.

"We have already sent a letter to the BSF authorities in protesting the incident. A flag meeting is expected between BSF and BGB by this afternoon," the CO said.
