BRTC bus catches fire, none hurt

An articulated bus of state-run Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) caught fire when its engine exploded on the Airport Road near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today.

No injury has been reported till filing this report at 1:15pm, according to police.

The Uttara-bound bus from Gulistan caught fire at about 11:55am, Shah Alam, officer in-charge of the Air Port police station said.

On information, four fire fighting units from adjoining Fire Brigade offices rushed to the spot and doused the blaze at 12:40pm, the OC said.

Police also picked up driver of the bus for questioning to find whether the incident was sabotage, Alam added.
