Brahmanbaria health workers announce vaccination campaign stoppage, demanding salary raise

Health workers of all nine upazilas under Brahmanbaria district have announced stoppage of all type of vaccination campaigns, in demand of their technical status and salary raise.

Bangladesh Health Department Inspectors Association and Bangladesh Health Assistants Association jointly formed a human chain and views-exchange meeting around 1:00pm today to press home their two-point demand, our Brahmanbaria correspondent reports.

The speakers at the demonstration announced they will not to take part in the national EPI and Rubella campaign scheduled to be held on November 26. They also announced refraining from all kinds of vaccination programme in future.

The human chain formed in front of Brahmabaria Press Club was presided over by M Abdul Baset, convener of Bangladesh Health Department Inspectors Association district unit.

Earlier around 12 noon today, they also organised a views-exchange meeting at the conference room of Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Health and Family Planning Office.

Brahmanabbaria Sadar Upazila Health Inspector Nilufar Yasmin, Bijoynagar Upazila Inspector Md Monir Hossain, Sarail Upazila Assistant Health Inspector Habibur Rahman, Nabinagar Upazila Assistant Health Inspector Amal Chandra Das and Ashuganj Upazila Assistant Health Inspector Azam Khan were present at the programme.
