Bounty for JMB men now Tk 5 lakh

A day into announcing Tk 2 lakh bounty for each of the Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) convicts snatched from prison van in Mymensingh, police headquarters today raised the amount to Tk 5 lakh.
A high official at the police headquarters confirmed this to The Daily Star.
Of the three snatched JMB convicts, Salauddin Ahmed alias Salehin and Zahidul Islam alias "Boma" Mizan are still absconding.
Almost five hours into the snatching at Trishal on their way to a Mymensingh court, condemned Rakib Hasan Russell alias Hafez Mahmud was in Tangail. He was killed in a 'shootout' with law enforcers at Beltoli area in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail early today, police claimed.
