Starstruck

I see starlight on my walls in dark nights

I see it on my windows.

Dancing round and round and running away.

The stars killed the sun, yes they did

I saw it with my own eyes, the

brutal murder, sun's blood

spattered and splattered

on the white and black

shirts of the stars

as the corpse of

the sun floats

away into the

darkness of

the space

alone.

I think, no, I know

That the moon is an abomination,

ripped apart from her mother's flesh, she LIVES

and smiles out of her genetically defected face a smile

so livid that not even her mother could love it,

and turns her face toward the sun.

And I saw the stars kill the sun,

but I didn't try to stop them

and I did not protest, no,

because a dying sun

could no longer

look at me

and laugh

at me.

Now I watch the starlight

and sing the starlight

on my windows

on my walls

I scream,

smiling.

Did you try

to catch a wayward star by its tail?

Because I can tell you,

stars can be quite maddening too!

Especially when you don't know when to close your eyes.
