The poems in this collection explore issues plaguing the world right now—poverty, class inequality, climate crisis, warfare and terrorism—and the effects they leave on our rivers and trees and human lives. Some of the more personal poems explore themes of anxiety, conflicted identity, love, nostalgia, and connection with the written word. These shifts in tone are accentuated by accompanying images.

Mohammad Shafiqul Islam is professor of English at SUST and poetry editor of the literary journal Reckoning. He has previously published Wings of Winds—a poetry collection and translated Humayun Ahmed: Selected Short Stories and Aphorisms of Humayun Azad.

In the first half of the book, creative writer and NSU student Rafeed Chowdhury explains how one can skate though university life by engaging in clubs, juggling work, studies, and social life, and building useful networks through peers and mentors. In the second half Md Tajdin Hassan, Head of Marketing at DS, builds on the insecurities one faces while entering the job market. He explains how to choose between job options, build and manage a team, how to build relationships with mentors, when and how to switch careers, and how to succeed in corporate life in general,etc.

The end of each chapter has certain exercises to ascertain one's position in the fear zone versus the growth zone, followed by two cartoon characters who sum up the essentials of each chapter.
