BNP expels rebel candidate

BNP Khetlal upazila unit under Joypurhat district on Sunday expelled a rebel upazila charman candidate for the election slated for February 27, defying party decision.
This was announced at a press conference held Haatkhola Bazar under Akkelpur upazila of the district in the afternoon. Golam Mostafa, former BNP lawmaker from Joypurhat was present.
The expellee is Khaledul Masud Anjuman, former president of Jubo Dal upazila unit. The party leaders claimed that Joypurhat BNP its Akkelpur upazila unit had nominated Rawnokul Islam Chowdhury Tipu as party candidate for the post of chairman of the upazila parishad.
Khetlal upazila BNP leaders said they expelled Khaledur Masud Anjuman as he refused to withdraw his candidature despite repeated requests.
