BCL to probe attack on RU students

Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of the ruling Awami League, has formed a five-member committee to probe Sunday’s incident of Rajshahi University.
Around 100 RU students and eight journalists were wounded yesterday, as armed Chhatra League men backed by police attacked the students protesting fee hikes and evening shift master's courses.
The authorities last night closed the university for an indefinite period and ordered the resident students to vacate halls by 8:00am today.
In a press release this afternoon, the BCL said it has asked the committee headed by BCL vice-president Joydeb Nandi to submit the report to its president or secretary within the next five days.
The other members of the committee are: BCL vice-presidents Shahinur Rashid Sohel and Ziaul Haque Zia, its Joint Secretary Mostafizur Rahman Mostak and office secretary Sheikh Russel.
