Employees of Bangladesh Railway in Chattogram today demanded reshuffling the mileage options at integrated budget and accounting system (IBAS++ software), which is going to be introduced from July.

If the demand is not met, the demonstrators will suspend train communication across the country to realise their demand, our Chattogram correspondent reports.

About 200 staff and employees, guards, and Running Percale Assistants (RPA) of Pahartali and CGPY offices also submitted a memorandum to divisional railway manager (DRM) at his office in the port city's Pahartali around 12:00pm.

IBAS++ is an internet-based software through which the government-budget preparation, budget implementation such as allocation, the release of funds, budget recap, online bill submission and reverses payment by check or EFT, revenue collection accounting, automation financial activities -- bank account coordination, etc can be done, according to its official website.

Under the banner of Bangladesh Railway Running Staff and Workers Association, they brought out a procession and held a protest rally in front of Pahartali DRM office around 11:00am to fix their mileage problem in the online system.

When contacted, DRM Tarek Mohammed Shams Tushar denied to talk to the media over the issue.
