Kerry leaves Dhaka after 6-hour visit

US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry departed Dhaka at 5.48 pm today.

Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen saw him off.

Kerry arrived at 11:30am today to invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the "Global Leaders' Summit on Climate Change" to be hosted by US President Joe Biden on April 22-23.

He first met with Foreign Minister Momen, Environment and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin, Saber Hossain Chowdhury MP and other officials concerned at the state guest house Padma.

Kerry then called upon the PM at the Gono Bhaban to hand over the invitation.
