Covid-19 pandemic pushes population census by 10 months

The schedule for the sixth population census of the country has been deferred by 10 months due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per the revised schedule, the population census will be held for seven days from October 25 to 31.

Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) officials announced the new schedule at a programme today.

The sixth population census was scheduled to be held from January 2 to 8 this year.

The population census is held every ten years. The last census was conducted in 2011.
