Prof Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah, the vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) was declared persona non grata on campus today after he held a press conference in Dhaka.

The faculty members of the university announced the decision during a press conference at the university.

The VC in his press conference lied and made ugly remarks about important personalities of the state including the education minister, claimed the faculty members.

"Vice-Chancellor Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah disobeyed the president's directive and remained absent on campus. He also covered up admission test fraud and is involved in corruption and irregularities in recruitment of staff members and teachers, violating University Grants Commission's (UGC) directives," said Mashiur Rahman, general secretary of BRUR Bangabandhu Parishad.

Kalimullah, on February 25, was accused in UGC's investigation report on corruption allegations, reports our Dinajpur correspondent.
