3 killed in two road accidents in Gazipur

Three, including a garment factory worker, were killed in two separate road accidents in Gazipur.

Garment worker Kohinoor Aktar, 32, was run over by a speeding truck near Ambagh Bridge area in Gazipur city corporation around 8am, reports our local correspondent quoting Abu Siddique, officer-in-charge of Konabari Police Station.

Kohinoor, who was going to her workplace at the time of the accident, died on the spot, the OC added.

Police seized the truck but the driver managed to escape. A case was being filed in this connection.

In Sreepur upazila of Gazipur, two youths died when a speeding bus coming from the opposite direction hit their motorcycle head-on on Kapasia-Rajbari highway yesterday.

The deceased were identified as Tarikul Islam, 18, and Mehedi Hasan, 19, said Khandakar Imam Hosen, officer-in-charge of Sreepur Police Station.

Police seized the bus of Rajdoot Pother Sathi Paribahan. However, its driver managed to flee.
