Senior defence secretary dies of Covid-19

Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury, senior secretary of the defence ministry, died of Covid-19 at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka this morning.

He breathed his last at 9:35am after suffering a cardiac arrest, Bhasani Mirza, administrative officer of the secretary, told The Daily Star.

He was admitted at CMH on May 29 after testing positive for Covid-19 and was put into the intensive care unit on June 6 when his condition deteriorated, Bhasani said.

He was on placed on ventilation support on June 18 as his condition deteriorated, he added.
