Bangladesh ranks poor in ICT, education
Bangladesh features in the bottom five positions among 28 Asia and Pacific countries in four categories -- education, information and communication technology, knowledge economy and innovation, according to a report revealed by the Asian Development Board.
ADB submitted the report to the government this morning.
Meeting journalists after his meeting with Bindu Lohani, ADB vice president for knowledge management and sustainable development, Finance Minister AMA Muhith disclosed the findings.
Bangladesh ranked second from the bottom in knowledge economy and innovation categories while third in information and communication technology and fourth in education sector, Muhith said.
China ranked top in information and communication technology and knowledge economy sectors; Singapore in innovation while Korea in education, he added.
